Two Tournaments Become One This Spring, May 17th, 2016!

We are so excited to announce that twelve years of history will be combined with a unique event on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 as the Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament in support of Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels and More (CSC) merges with Golf Social!

By combining components of traditional golf with this non-traditional event, we’re adding more challenges, more networking opportunities and more lasting memories.


Drive to Deliver has been a huge success and has raised over $300,000 and subsidized more than 118,000 meals over the past 12 years. Golfers and sponsors have enjoyed connecting with friends year after year, participating in a silent auction, enjoying a sit-down dinner and much more. Golf Social came into existence five years ago and rocked the local golf tournament scene with its crazy challenges, social activities and sharing of stories using social media.

 

What we love about this merger is that the histories of Drive to Deliver and Golf Social will not be lost nor forgotten. We are so excited to start a new story as we blend the flavours of these tournaments together. Drive to Deliver participants can expect to see a lot of new faces and participate in more challenges and contests throughout the day. Golf Socialites will challenge Drive to Deliver golfers to compete for best cart and costume prizes, all while having access to an amazing silent auction and more.

Thank you to all of the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who came out to the 11th annual Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament on Tuesday May 12th!

Thanks to your generous support, we raised over $23,000, which is enough to offset an average of 6,300 subsidized meals for lower income seniors and adults with disabilities in Waterloo Region. Your support means some of our most vulnerable neighbours will have access to a hot, nutritious meal regardless of their financial situation.

We’re getting excited about our collection of silent and live auction items for the Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament coming up on May 12th. From an electric mulching blower/vacuum donated by Home Hardware - St. Jacob’s, a BBQ package donated by Cadillac Fairview and an exciting daytrip for 12 people with Great Canadian Casino Express with the choice of travelling to one of four casinos, we can't wait for our golfers to access these sweet packages.

Wish you could travel but don’t have the time? Do you love a nice glass of wine? If so, come out and bid on a wine fridge donated by TD Wealth Private Client Group/TD Commerical Banking/TD Securities! And in case you were wondering, we’re not going to let you take home an empty wine fridge. This package also includes a variety of international wines from around the world.

Bad day on the course? It’s okay! We all have them. But there’s no better way to de-stress than with a little bit of music via two tickets to the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony for the 2015-2016 Season. Ranging from renditions of classical music to the music of James Bond, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony has an excellent range of shows and you don’t want to miss it. Of course nothing goes better with a relaxing night out than a rack of roasted lamb and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. This package also includes a gift card to Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar!

It's that time of year again! The Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament in support of Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels and More will be happening on Tuesday May 12th, 2015 at Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg, Ontario. The event includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, and dinner, as well as access to amazing auction items and golfer gifts. Thanks to King Crab Oyster Bar and Grill/King Street Trio Uptown for offering up some sweet golfer prizes!

 

This tournament attracts numerous local businesses and supporters. To start, we would like to thank Piller's Fine Foods who will be serving our golfers a delicious lunch before they hit the links. We also want to thank our Wine Sponsor, Grand River Contracting Inc., who recently finished building our new Meals on Wheels Dream Kitchen!

 

We have also received our first of many auction items from Hauser, Erb and Good Funeral Homes, and The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

 

All proceeds from the tournament go towards CSC's Meal Subsidy Program which ensures low income seniors and adults with disabilities in our community have access to a hot, nutritious meal regardless of their financial situation. Last year the tournament raised $36,000, enough to subsidize 9,700 meals for our most vulnerable neighbours. Your support will help us reach even more clients.

Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament Celebrates 10 Years of Golf for a Great Cause!

At CSC, we are saying goodbye to winter despite what it may look like outside. Instead, we look forward to dusting off our golf clubs and getting onto the green! 

On Tuesday May 13^th, 2014, join us for the 10^th Annual Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament in support of Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More. This year’s event will be happening at Rebel Creek Golf Club located in Petersburg, just outside Kitchener-Waterloo. Price includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, and dinner, as well as access to amazing auction items and golfer gifts from ChristieDigital, and King Crab OysterBar and Grill/King Street Trio Uptown!

Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament Date set for May 14th, 2013!

The date is set for the annual Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament in support of Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More! We invite you to join us at Rebel Creek Golf Club on Tuesday May 14th for another amazing event.

Last year, thanks to our sponsors and golfers, we raised more than $46,000 for our meal subsidy program. Price includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner, fantastic golfer gifts from Christie Digital, and King Crab Oyster Bar and Grill/King Street Uptown!

Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament the Most Successful to Date!

Thanks to our 55 sponsors, silent auction donors, enthusiastic golfers, and fantastic golf committee, we are happy to share that our annual charity golf tournament raised $45,000 this year in support of seniors and adults with disabilities throughout Waterloo Region! That’s a milestone for us as we have passed our $37, 000 mark, which was our record breaking total last year.  

The golfers once again loved their gifts, which included a $30 gift certificate to either King Crab Oyster Bar or King Street Trio Uptown, their choice of collapsible cooler, or car tote bag, and the sprain and sport injury spray bottle. All together the golfer gifts were valued at $96, which is more than half the cost for each golfer!

There are so many people to thank for this fantastic success, and we would like to start by thanking our Golf Committee who were instrumental in pulling this event together. Thank you Lawrence Bingeman, Lori Bordessa, Kevin Mills, John Emrich, and Dave Arjune. Also, we would like to extend a special thank you to Dennis Watson, who emceed the evening and helped us raise over $3,000 through our live auction.

Stunning Silent Auction

The date for our golf tournament is rapidly approaching, and the silent auction items are starting to pile-up. Like last year, we have some fantastic items to bid on in support of our meal subsidy program, which is critical in getting needed nutrition to low-income seniors and adults with disabilities in Waterloo Region.

In fact, two of our prizes are so huge we’re offering them through a live auction hosted by our emcee Denis Watson, recently retired GM of CTVSWO. We’re facing record breaking demand for subsidies this year, so let’s be prepared to come out for a fantastic day, raise lots of money for our neighbours in need, and walk away with these exciting items:
